We sure have received a lot of compliments lately about how wonderful our Main Street and HWY corridor is starting to look.

We are incredibly thankful for the servant heart of our Elroy Lions Club. What may seem like one simple act of service—caring for and beautifying our downtown sidewalks—has made such a noticeable difference. It has helped our Main Street feel more attractive and welcoming.

But this effort represents something even bigger about Elroy. We have a wonderful group of people who genuinely love and care for the city they call home. From organizations and businesses to families, volunteers and individuals who quietly give their time, there are so many people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and make Elroy a better place. The Lions Club members and those who worked so hard to clean up hope this is the encouragement needed to continue the trend of keeping our downtown and community looking beautiful.

The Lions Club has started a spark, and we hope that spark continues to spread. When each of us takes a little pride in our community and gives a little of our time, the impact can be incredible.

The Elroy Lions Club and the City of Elroy are working together to improve the appearance of our streets and sidewalks and make our community an even better place to live, work, and visit. The Elroy Lions Club have hired two young men to trim and clean-up the sidewalk and gutter area along Hwy 80/82.

We believe that a clean, attractive community starts with all of us. We’re encouraging residents, businesses, and community members to help keep our streets, sidewalks, yards, and public areas looking their best.

School Bus Safety Reminder 🚌

With school right around the corner, we encourage everyone to remember: getting to your destination two minutes earlier is never worth putting someone else in danger.

If you’re worried about a school bus slowing you down, simply leave a little earlier and plan extra time for your trip.

Every child deserves to arrive at school and return home safely. Let’s all do our part to make sure they do. 💛

Slow down. Be patient. Stay alert. Help keep our kids safe.

With the new school year about to begin, keep safety in mind around bus stops.

✅ Kids should be waiting at least 10 feet from the bus .
✅ Drivers must stop at least 20 feet from a school bus with flashing red warning lights.
✅ Stay alert, particularly in school zones and near bus stops.

We can NOT believe it’s already time to make this announcement! 🥲💦

It feels like just yesterday we were working hard to get the pool ready for another summer. Then, in the blink of an eye, we’ve spent the season splashing, swimming, making memories, and learning important water-safety skills.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing pool staff for making the pool a place where our community can come together, have fun, make friends, and enjoy summer.

We’re grateful for all the time, energy, and care you put into making another pool season a success!
