🛑Please read this message from the Pierce County Highway Department:

Based on information from the National Weather Service as of 10am Friday, March 13th, the area is expecting 12-18" of snow beginning Saturday evening, at a rate of up to 2" per hour starting early Sunday. This will be accompanied by mainly northerly winds of 30 - 40mph.

⚠️TRAVEL IS NOT ADVISED FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 15TH.⚠️

It takes plow trucks approximately 3 - 4 hours to perform a round, which will lead to accumulation on the roadways. Intersections, turning lanes, climbing lanes and cul-de-sacs will receive limited attention until the snowfall concludes so that plows can focus on main travel lanes.

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to support the Elmwood Area Fire Department at our 18th annual chicken dinner fundraiser! Thanks to everyone in this community for the donations and time put into everything, our event was a huge success.
