The community of Elmwood will celebrate its 140th birthday on Sunday, September 13. There will be educational and fun activities all day for people of all ages.
How will the Aldrich Foundation be involved. Here is a list of Aldrich Foundation activities. All are free.
1. Beginning at 1, our new mural will be dedicated in the Aldrich Gardens.
2. Shortly after that at about 1:15, our character actress will give a short performance on the patio in the gardens.
3. The Aldrich House is open from 1 to 6 p.m. where the current exhibit is a quilt show with 107 quilts on display from various Nebraska Quilt Guilds.
4. It's been 6 years in the making, but the Elmwood Cultural Arts and Learning Center will have its grand opening and dedication at 2 pm. The new Aldrich Museum is part of this new facility at 221 South Fourth.
5. The old Aldrich museum will host Kami Voboril at 3 p.m. She will provide instructions on how to begin your genealogy research.
