The girls 1600 relay team of Karli Heins, Wren Lewis, Ariana Florio, and Willow Lewis finshed 7th in the regional meet tonight in 4:06.52 which likely will get them an at-large berth in the state meet. Official qualifying lists come out Sunday morning. Congratulations relay team.

CORRECTION - The HS boys track team will have one relay team moving on to the Div. V regional meet Saturday morning at Fostoria as the 400 relay team placed eighth in the prelims with a time of 44.23. The team is Lucas Caldwell, Auden Hemminger, Adyn Smith, and Landon Rich.

Our 5th grade math students recently completed a “Volume Zoo” project in Miss Ernsthausen’s class! Students worked in groups to research an animal and then designed and built a 3D model of their animal using boxed shapes. Throughout the project, students practiced calculating volume while also using creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Students also completed an animal research component and wrote informational paragraphs about their chosen animal. The students did a great job, and it was a fun way to bring math to life in the classroom!

Thanks to funding from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, Mr. Schlea’s 8th grade PEC science class was able to visit Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island yesterday! During the trip, students learned about the Great Lakes, limnology, invasive species, and water quality, while also participating in scientific studies. Students participated in collecting and identifying phytoplankton and zooplankton, fish dissections, and fish trawling. It was a great learning experience!

The high school girls track team had one qualifier for Friday's finals in Marion at the Div. IV regional meet. The 1600 relay team placed sixth in 4:08.37. The foursome was made up of Karli Heins, Wren Lewis, Ariana Florio, and Willow Lewis. A state berth is on the line Friday.
