πŸŽ³πŸ† The 2026 Chemung County Senior Games are wrapping up this week, and what an amazing week it has been! πŸ†πŸŽ³

We’ve enjoyed friendly competition, laughter, and great camaraderie throughout the week, including:

🎳 Bowling at Dixie Lanes
🎱 Putt-Putt Billiards at the Town of Southport Senior Center at Chappel Park
πŸŒ½πŸ… Co****le today at the Chemung County Family Fitness Center

We will finish strong with our β˜€οΈπŸŒ¦οΈ Rain or Shine Field Day and Health & Information Fair at Harris Hill this Thursday morning!

❀️ We are continually inspired by the energy, enthusiasm, and participation of our older adult athletes. Chemung County is fortunate to have such an active and engaged community, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to serve you each day.

πŸ‘ Thank you to everyone who has participated, volunteered, cheered on competitors, and helped make this year’s Senior Games such a success!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you one more time this Thursday morning at Harris Hill! πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ

This is really exciting new for one of our community partners and for our residents!

πŸ’œ June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

πŸ’œ The Reality in New York: πŸ’œ

Did you know that 1 in 10 older adults will experience mistreatment by someone they know? Even more heartbreaking β€” only 1 in 24 cases will ever be reported.

Elder abuse can happen behind closed doors and often goes unnoticed. That’s why YOU can make a difference.

πŸ‘€ Check in.
πŸ‘‚ Listen.
🩡 Notice changes.
🀝 Offer support.

A phone call, a visit, or simply paying attention could mean everything to an older adult who may be struggling in silence.

✨ Together, we can shine a light on elder abuse, raise awareness, and help protect the older adults in our communities. πŸ’œ
