Having someone in their corner, whether it’s a parent, teacher, coach, friend, or another trusted adult, can help young people feel supported and make healthier choices.

Prevention isn’t just about saying “no.” It’s about creating spaces where young people feel like they belong and know there are people who care about them.

Sometimes, a simple conversation or showing up for someone can have a bigger impact than we realize. 💙

What did we learn about youth va**ng❓

Our recent Clyde youth survey found that 13% of students reported trying va**ng at least once in their lifetime, while 5.4% reported va**ng within the past 30 days.

These numbers help us understand trends affecting local youth and guide prevention efforts in our schools and community.

Education, supportive adults, healthy activities, and honest conversations all play an important role in helping young people make informed choices.

Together, we can continue supporting the health and well-being of our youth.

Did you know?

Boredom and lack of supervision during the summer months can increase risk for young people.

When school is out, teens often have more free time and fewer structured activities. Staying connected through summer programs, sports, volunteer opportunities, jobs, family activities, and community events can help keep youth engaged and supported.

📊 51% report low commitment to school
📊 37% experience family conflict
📊 36% report parental attitudes that may be favorable toward substance use

These factors can increase risk, but they can also point us toward where support is needed most.

Prevention is about understanding what young people are facing and working together to create healthier environments at home, in school, and in our community.

Young people are always watching how adults respond to stress, whether we realize it or not. Taking a walk when you’re overwhelmed, talking things out, or even saying “I need a minute” shows that it’s okay to pause and take care of yourself.

What’s one healthy way you cope with stress?
