⚠️ Detour Update & Driver Reminder ⚠️

Beginning this evening (9/3), there will be no access to 248th Ave. from Lapp Lane as crews prepare to install 54" pipe across Lapp Lane.

Also, if you're traveling southbound on Trumpet Avenue at 248th Ave., there is NO RIGHT TURN ON RED! 🚫🚦

The temporary traffic signal and posted signage are in place to keep traffic moving safely through the construction zone.

Please slow down and stay alert. These traffic controls are in place for a reason, and your cooperation helps keep everyone safe.

🚧 Detour & Safety Reminder 🚧

As we celebrate continued progress with the reopening of Book Road north of 75th Street, we'd like to remind everyone traveling through construction areas to slow down and stay alert.

We know construction can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience. The safety of the community and our crews remains our top priority. With school back in session, please use extra caution in work zones and watch for children waiting for buses along project routes.

These temporary inconveniences are helping address a long-term challenge. The WaterLink project will provide a sustainable and reliable water supply for approximately 90,000 residents across three communities facing a rapidly depleting water source. The investment will help build a secure water future for generations to come.

Traffic reminder for Naperville 🚧

Starting today: Expect construction on 248th Avenue between 95th Street to just south of Lapp Lane.

What's new in this phase of work:
✅ Local access remains open with one lane of traffic in each direction shifted to the southbound side of 248th Avenue.
✅ Northbound lanes are closed while crews install a 54" water main.
✅ Temporary traffic signals are in place at Trumpet Avenue and Lapp Lane to help manage traffic.

⚠️ Please note: if you're traveling toward 95th Street plan for extra travel time.
The current lane reductions on 95th Street remain in effect. The work zones on 95th Street and 248th Avenue are anticipated to reopen this fall.

Heads up, Naperville! 🚧

Crews will begin a new phase of construction along 248th Street just south of Trumpet Avenue this Tuesday (8/25) with the installation of a 54" water main.

Here's what to expect so you can plan ahead.

248th Street from Trumpet Avenue to just south of Lapp Lane will be reduced to two-way local traffic:
➡️All traffic will shift to the Southbound lanes, with one lane open in each direction for local traffic
➡️Northbound lanes will fully close
➡️This traffic configuration will continue into the fall
➡️Through traffic should follow posted detours

The current configuration of 95th Street from Wolf's Crossing to 248th Street will remain in place until fully restored early this fall
➡️All traffic is shifted to the WB lanes, with one lane open in each direction

The full closure of 248th Street from 95th Street to Trumpet Avenue will remain in place until it is fully restored early this fall

As students return to school and traffic increases throughout the Naperville community, our project partners continue to make adjustments to help keep everyone safe along the construction corridor. 🚸🚧

In response to recent concerns and traffic safety reviews, Book Road between 87th Street and 95th Street has been shifted to ONE-WAY SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC during construction, with a REDUCED SPEED LIMIT OF 30 MPH.

While construction can be disruptive, this important work is helping build a 30-mile water pipeline extension that will provide reliable Lake Michigan drinking water to Village of Montgomery, IL, Village of Oswego, Illinois, and United City of Yorkville for generations to come.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep both the traveling public and our construction crews safe.

This section of Book Road will remain open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY and will be restricted to southbound traffic.

If you live, work, or travel in the area, please plan for the updated traffic pattern.

The overall detour north of 75th Street remains unchanged. Through traffic should continue using 87th Street to the north or 95th Street to the south.

As always, please drive carefully, follow posted detours, and leave extra room for crews working in the area.
