The purpose of this page is to share important information with our community and create the opportunity for open communication and dialogue about our district and school programs. We do, however, reserve the right to remove comments or discussion posts which violate any of the rules below. By liking, commenting, retweeting, following, sharing, or otherwise engaging w

ith this page, you agree to follow the following Rules of Engagement:

• Be respectful. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive, violent or hateful to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks, including racist, profane or obscene comments, will be removed.

• Refrain from using our page to promote your business, product or candidate. In accordance with Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) guidelines, this page is not a place to promote or oppose any person campaigning for election to a political office, or promote or oppose any ballot proposition. However, we may provide factual information concerning district ballot measures and may occasionally include a post of thanks to our supporters, business partners, or information about school-related fundraisers or school-sponsored events benefiting local charities.

• Have a question for a specific employee? Contact them directly, please, via email or phone. This page is not meant to replace regular communication channels for sharing individual issues or concerns. Contact information for each school, department and employee is available on the district website. Comments regarding a personal issue with the district, a school, department, or staff member will be removed. Comments that threaten or harm the reputation of any person or organization will be removed.

• Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students in Elma Public Schools. Please keep the conversation related to our district. Comments of all kinds are welcome as long as they directly relate to our district.

Last week, members of the Elma High School Choir were honored at a year-end banquet (we are officially in banquet season). From the holiday concert in December to a stirring National Anthem performance at Pack the Gym, this group has brought warmth and a positive spirit to many events throughout the year.

The Elma Track and Field team had another solid showing at State, which concluded this past weekend.

In particular, we'd like to congratulate Carson A. for earning the State championship in Ambulatory Discus. Carson posted a 37'4" throw, a season-best to earn first place. Carson also placed second in Ambulatory Shot Put and third in Ambulatory 100 meters and third in Ambulatory Javelin. Also, congratulations to Richie G. for multiple podium placings. Richie earned second place in the 200 meters and third place in the 100 meters.

Nani K. also earned a podium spot after placing fourth in the high jump. Congrats to the student-athletes and the team for an outstanding season!

Congratulations to Destiny Whipple for finishing in the top 10 among the Elma High School Class of 2026!

Destiny participated in the National Honor Society, Cross Country, Track & Field, Wrestling, Chamber Choir, Associated Student Body, and Link Crew. Destiny will attend Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen in the fall, the recipient of a scholarship from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation.

A memorable moment includes qualifying for WIAA State in Cross Country during Junior and Senior years.

One of Destiny's favorite quotes is: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

Destiny would like to thank her parents, teachers, coaches, advisors, and friends.

Congratulations to Quinton Perry for finishing in the top 10 among the Elma High School Class of 2026!

Quinton enjoys lifting weights, hanging out with friends, reading, and playing video games. Quinton will attend the University of Washington this fall to study Biology with an emphasis on Wildlife Conservation. He's a recipient of the Gladys Phillips Memorial Scholarship.

Quinton would like to thank his mom for always supporting him and wanting success for him more than anyone.

Congratulations to Emiliano Alatorre for finishing in the top 10 among the Elma High School Class of 2026!

Emiliano enjoys writing, gaming, soccer, and mathematics. Emiliano will attend the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle this fall to pursue a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He's received multiple scholarship awards.

Emiliano would like to thank his parents for his education and for shaping the person he is today. Emiliano would also like to acknowledge his older siblings who supported and guided him throughout the years. Additionally, one teacher he is extremely thankful for is Mr. Arnold. Without his guidance, Emiliano wouldn't have discovered his full potential in mathematics.

Congratulations to Nani K. for finishing fourth overall at State in the girls High Jump yesterday.

Also, Richie G. had a great start in the 100 meters prelims, finishing first in his individual heat and second overall with a time of 10.67. With his prelim, Richie earned a spot in the Final on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Only the top-8 qualify for Finals.

Our student-athletes are competing across 11 different categories today. Several of Saturday's Finals depend on results today.

Elma School District is proud to introduce the Elma High School Salutatorian Myah Goldsmith.

Myah has participated in numerous activities including choir, drama, soccer, track and served as President of Band and Vice President of FFA and National Honor Society. Myah has also participated in Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia the past two years on both clarinet and bass clarinet. Myah leaves Elma High School with both a high school diploma and an Associate degree from Grays Harbor College.

Myah will attend Western Washington University in Bellingham this fall to study Music Education and Performance, having won numerous scholarship awards.

Myah would like to thank her family and friends for believing in her and helping her succeed. Myah would also like to thank her teachers for the support and preparation for life after high school.

Elma School District is proud to introduce the Elma High School Valedictorian Mayah Wisdom.

Mayah participated in numerous clubs, including as President of the Drama Club and Choir Club. She also helped to bring back Elma's Youth Alive Bible Club and enjoyed leading it this year. Mayah has participated in ballet for more than a decade.

Mayah will attend George Fox University in Portland, Oregon this fall. Mayah is the recipient of multiple scholarship awards. She plans to study English and Theater while also participating in the Choir and Honors program. A memorable moment includes performing in drama performances with her friends.

In addition to visiting Elma Elementary, Elma High School Seniors visited Satsop Elementary, McCleary School, Elma Middle School, as well as EHS.

This is an annual tradition that provides Seniors with positive feelings on their accomplishments while also providing a strong example for those who we hope will one day walk the same graduation stage.

Congratulations, Travis! He will compete at the PNW Invitational Championship with only the top 5 competitors from Washington and Oregon in each competitive event earning spots. This year, the Championship will be in Moses Lake in June.

Congratulations are in order for Travis and his equine partner Ellie, who will be competing at the Pacific Northwest Invitational Championship in Moses Lake from June 18 to 21, against elite teams from Washington and Oregon.
