Want to learn to play chess or practice your skills in a welcoming and fun environment? Join chess club at the Elm Grove Public Library! You'll learn the functions of each piece, basic chess moves and strategies, and, of course, play chess! No prior experience is necessary to join!

This program is for ages 8-12 (if your child will turn 8 or 13 throughout the run of this class, they are eligible to participate). Registration is required to attend this program and attendance is required at all four sessions. We'll meet on the second Monday of each month (September 14, October 12, November 9, and December 14) at 4:00pm in the O'Neill Room. On the evening of Tuesday, August 25, Bridges Library System will upgrade the catalog system and app used throughout the library system.

The youth summer reading program ends at the Elm Grove Library this Saturday, August 8. Make sure to get your final reading slips in by closing time (5:00pm) on Saturday to collect your final coupons and enter your name for the grand prize drawings! Sorry, no reading slips will be accepted after August 8. The grand prize drawings will happen early next week and you'll be contacted by phone if you're a winner!

Join us on Tuesday, July 7 at 10:00am for an extra special horse-themed storytime with Sawdust the Miniature Therapy Horse! The one thing Sawdust loves more than making people smile, is making people smile while listening to a great story at the library! All ages are welcome, and no registration is required to attend. We will meet outside on the right side of the library. In the event of inclement weather, this event will move indoors.
