The Elm Grove Police Department is pleased to welcome Officer Thomas Budziszewski, who was officially sworn in this morning!

Officer Budziszewski brings nearly 25 years of law enforcement experience to Elm Grove. He began his career with the Chicago Police Department and retired earlier this year after nearly 25 years of service.

His experience, training, and commitment to community policing will be a valuable addition to our department as we continue serving and protecting the residents, businesses, and visitors of Elm Grove.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Budziszewski to the team! If you see him out on patrol, be sure to say hello and help us make him feel right at home. After nearly 25 years with Chicago PD, he's starting an exciting new chapter here in Elm Grove. We're excited to have him on board and look forward to showing him what makes Elm Grove such a great community!

Congratulations, Officer Budziszewski, and welcome to Elm Grove!

Today is Women in Law Enforcement Day!

Today, we are proud to recognize the women who serve the Elm Grove Police Department, both on the street and behind the scenes.

We are fortunate to have Lieutenant Riley, Detective Martin, and Officer Billstrom serving as members of our sworn law enforcement team, along with our dedicated female dispatchers Carolyn Gasse, Marisa Hocket, Heather Hamilton, and Lizzy Kwiecinski who are the calm voice on the other end of the radio and the vital link between our officers and the community.

Each of them brings professionalism, dedication, compassion, and a commitment to service to EGPD every day. Whether answering a 911 call, dispatching an officer, investigating a case, patrolling our community, assisting a resident, or handling whatever unexpected situation the day brings, they play an important role in keeping Elm Grove safe.

Their contributions, experience, and commitment make our department stronger and our community better.

Today, we recognize and thank all of the women who serve the Elm Grove Police Department, as well as the women serving in law enforcement agencies throughout our community, state, and nation. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety make a difference every day.

Thank you for serving our communities and for the important role you play in law enforcement!

The backpacks are packed, the alarm clocks are set (hopefully), and another school year is officially underway! As our students head back to the classroom, we thought it was the perfect time to help you get to know one of the familiar faces you'll see around Pilgrim Park Middle School this year!

🚔 MEET YOUR SRO! 🚔

Our School Resource Officer is there for much more than school safety. From answering questions and visiting classrooms to attending school events and getting to know students and staff, our SRO is an important part of the school community.

Check out our “Meet Your SRO” spotlight below to learn a few fun facts about the person behind the badge! 👇

And for everyone hitting the roads, slow down and stay alert! School buses are back, kids are walking and biking, and school zones are busy again!

It’s hard to put nearly 47 years of service into words. Mary has been a constant presence in the Village of Elm Grove.

Her knowledge, professionalism, willingness to help, and, perhaps most importantly, her genuine care for people made her someone you could always count on. She has certainly left her mark on the Village and on the many people fortunate enough to work with her.

Congratulations on an incredible career, Mary. Thank you for everything you have done for Elm Grove. You’ve certainly earned this next chapter, enjoy every minute of it!

What a fantastic morning for our inaugural Cops & Bobbers event!

Despite an uncertain weather forecast, Mother Nature gave us just enough of a break to get our lines in the water, and we're sure glad she did!

Thirty young anglers joined officers and dispatchers from the Elm Grove Police Department for a morning of fishing, fun, and building relationships in our community. Best of all, every participant caught at least one fish, with several anglers reeling in multiple catches throughout the morning!

The day began with a presentation from Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden Aspenson, who shared valuable information about fishing, conservation, and outdoor safety before our groups headed out to their designated fishing spots.

While catching fish was certainly exciting, the real success of the day was the opportunity for our officers to spend time with the youth in our community, share a few laughs, create lasting memories, and strengthen the relationships that make Elm Grove such a special place to live.

This event would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our community partners. A heartfelt thank you to:

👏 Culver's-Elm Grove
👏 Elm Grove Community Foundation, Inc
👏 Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway
👏 Elm Grove Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association
👏 Cops and Kids Foundation
👏 Ideal Logos and Awards
👏 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources

Special thank you to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden, our police and dispatch volunteers, and the parents who entrusted us with their young anglers today.

Judging by the smiles, the fish stories, and the excitement throughout the morning, we'd call our very first Cops & Bobbers a huge success. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Officer Billstrom and Sawdust the Miniature Therapy Horse had a busy day in Elm Grove! They started the day with a visit to Camp Elm Grove, where campers had the opportunity to meet Sawdust and learn about the important role of therapy horses.

Next stop, Stories with Sawdust at the library. Before story time, Sawdust insisted on browsing the collection himself and chose two horse-themed books.

A big thank you to the Elm Grove Public Library for hosting a great event and to everyone who stopped by!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Bike Safety Night! We had a fantastic evening teaching children important bike safety tips and safe riding practices. After putting those skills into practice, everyone enjoyed a group ride to Rj's Ice Cream.

A special thank you to Rj's Ice Cream for accommodating our group! We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Elm Grove Community Foundation, Inc for sponsoring this event. Your support helps us provide meaningful programs that bring our community together while promoting safety and positive interactions with our officers.

We loved seeing so many smiling faces and hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
