It's that time of year again when we celebrate our public safety dispatchers here at the RCC and around the country. Dispatchers are some of the most important people you may never see. To most, they are a voice on the phone during someone's worst day. To others, they are a calm and perhaps bored sounding voice on the radio, sending units to one crisis or another. You might even think a few of them are quite feral, sitting in the dark in front of a bunch of screens with phones and radios blaring, keeping track of the chaos.
We are fortunate to have the crew who work around the clock seven days a week here at the RCC. The calls that come in vary from the most insignificant issue to the most horrific imaginable. Our folks "do what they do" each and every day to get help where it's needed.
Please take a few minutes to appreciate our "first first responders". As a side note, they do like coffee and snacks...
