Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth is one of only three freestanding cancer resource centers in Maine. It serves Hancock and Washington Counties where the incidence, prevalence, and mortality rates for cancer far exceed both the state and national averages. Wright Center is the place to turn for education and support in making sense of a cancer diagnosis and proceeding with your life. Wright Cancer Resource Center provides a comfortable place for cancer patients, families, and friends to meet their educational and emotional needs. Our staff is almost entirely volunteer; professionals and caring community members donate their time to offer classes, meetings, and programs that are free to people with cancer, their families, and friends. We offer books, brochures, video and audio tapes as well as a computer with access to the internet.

At our Baileyville Center

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced knitter, you are invited to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy the fellowship of other knitters!

๐Ÿ‚ A SEASON OF HOPE: INSPIRING CHANGE THROUGH CANCER AWARENESS โ€“ BAILEYVILLE WALK ๐Ÿ‚

Join the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center for a special morning of hope, remembrance, awareness, and community as part of Baileyville OctoberFest.

๐Ÿ•— Check-in: 8:00 a.m.
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Walk begins: 9:00 a.m.

The morning will include a Remembrance Ceremony and Survivorsโ€™ Hope Lap as we honor those we have lost, celebrate survivors, support those currently facing cancer, and stand beside their families and caregivers.

There is no registration fee, and everyone is welcome! Participate as an individual walker, join or create a team, form a relay team, or simply walk alongside your family, friends, and community.

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Centerโ€™s Ellsworth and Baileyville locations will be closed on Monday, September 7, in recognition of Labor Day.

Today, we honor the dedication and contributions of workers throughout our communities including our wonderful employees, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and community partners. ๐Ÿ’œ

Both centers will reopen on Tuesday, September 8. Please plan your visit accordingly, and have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day!

This moment represents far more than one person it reflects the dedication of the incredible staff, volunteers, board members, community partners, supporters, and friends of the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. Every day, we work together to ensure that no one in our community has to face cancer alone.

Serving the people of Downeast Maine and helping individuals and families navigate the cancer journey is not simply my work, it is deeply personal and something I feel privileged to do.

September is an important month for cancer awareness. ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Throughout the month, we recognize leukemia, lymphoma, thyroid, prostate, uterine, childhood pancreatic, ๏ฟผand ovarian cancers. We honor those currently undergoing treatment, celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand beside the families and caregivers supporting their loved ones.

Awareness encourages education, early detection, meaningful conversations, and support. No matter the type of cancer or where you are in your journey, you do not have to face it alone.

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center is here to provide free support, information, resources, and patient navigation to individuals and families affected by cancer.
