Alexander's Light Foundation was dreamt up when we lost Alexander on December 12, 2015. He touched so many people and inspired others to fight hard and live a full life no matter the circumstances you're dealt. When Alexander passed away we found a gaping hole in the care and attention given to bereaved families during and after the loss of a child. We have decided to primarily focus on families d
uring their time of loss. We will be offering services such as support groups (Mother's, Father's, Teenagers, Children, Family and Friends), financial assistance, and our "Comfort Room" concept is coming together. The "Comfort Rooms" that we are working on will be placed in hospitals and be available for parents and loved ones. The rooms will provide a warm, comforting, quiet environment for parents and families as they say their final "see you laters" to their child. They will include hand printing and foot printing kits, light music, a bed large enough to hold the family, monitors that are less invasive, blankets for the child to take with them, and information on "what's next" (funeral planning, grief information, support groups available). Also, we will be working on grief packages that can be sent to families with personal touches to help them during their healing process.
