September is recognized as National Preparedness Month, a time to encourage individuals, families, businesses, and communities to take proactive steps to prepare for emergencies and disasters.

Throughout Wisconsin, residents are encouraged to understand the hazards that may affect their communities, create an emergency plan, build a disaster preparedness kit, and stay informed about potential threats. Preparedness is a shared responsibility, and by working together, individuals, organizations, and all levels of government can help build safer, more resilient communities.
