On Purple Heart Day, the members of Tallahala Chapter proudly honor the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

From the patriots of the American Revolution to the courageous service members of today, the spirit of sacrifice has preserved the freedoms we cherish. We remember those who have shed blood in service to our country and express our deepest gratitude for their courage, devotion, and love of liberty.

May we never forget the cost of freedom.

The Deason Home is owned and maintained by the Tallahala Chapter NSDAR. When you join the chapter you become part owner of this historical home!!

We would love to have you join us! DAR is open to any woman, age 18 and up, who can prove their lineage back to a patriot of the American Revolution. Don't know if you have a patriot? Contact us and we will help you find out!!

On the 250th birthday of our nation, we'd like to honor Eleanor Baskin Deason, the first lady of the Deason Home. Born on July 4, 1810, she was the granddaughter of Andrew Baskin. Private Baskin served in the Revolutionary War and also furnished supplies for the war effort. Eleanor married Amos Deason and after leaving South Carolina, they settled their family in Ellisville and the Deason Home in the early 1840s. Happy birthday, Mrs. Deason!! 🇺🇸❤️
