The regular USD 355 Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 17th at 7:00 am will be conducted in the EHS Band Room. This is a change from the Library to accommodate the current bond project construction that is occurring. Patrons may enter through the north entrance on the east side of the building.

At the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta this week, Banks Jacobs encountered a highly rated chess player: David Phelps from New York.

Representing Zeecraft (a company that makes buzzers, timers, and scoreboards) at the conference’s Techspo, Phelps not only played Banks in a few games but kindly provided advice on how to help young players get better at the game of chess.

He also donated a board that will be used for the Ellinwood Chess Club. David’s help will be key for the team to succeed this upcoming chess season. Banks and the rest of the chess club are very thankful for David’s help!

Recent EHS graduate, Jonas Kern, was awarded 4th place in the National SkillsUSA Pin Design Competition in Atlanta, GA! Congratulations!!

4th place in the NATION, with a 93.6% total score. Could not be more proud of his commitment and level of thought and care he put into this project. Not just with the design, but learning about the industry and marketing trends, and making a tradable piece of art that people would want.

📢 USD 355 Board of Education Meeting Location Change

The USD 355 Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM will be held in the Ellinwood High School Band Room.

Patrons attending the meeting should enter through the northeast entrance of the high school on the east side of the building.

Please note that the Board will move into executive session during the meeting. The livestream will be temporarily paused during that time and will resume once the Board returns to open session.
