Also thank you to those who brought us new donations for our shelves. Remember you can leave donations anytime the library is open. We look forward to seeing everyone in the future.

Congratulations Sue- she has been at the forefront of change for our library!

In the weeks leading into and throughout Women’s History Month, from February through March, we’re sharing the stories of the women whose passion, leadership, and dedication make a lasting impact every day with the Town of Ellington.

Since joining Hall Memorial Library in 1987, Sue has been a driving force behind its growth, innovation, and role as the heart of the Ellington community. With a Master’s in Library Science, she led the Library into the digital age (by joining the Bibliomation consortium, introducing automated circulation, online catalogs, and shared databases), guided a major expansion (all while welcoming her son!), and helped bring countless new services, programs, and technologies to residents. With the support of staff, the Friends of the Library, and the community, the Library embraced new technology while preserving its welcoming, people-first mission.

Sue’s dedication to public service extends well beyond the Library through her volunteer work with Scouting America, local boards, community organizations, and international library initiatives in Kenya.

Through decades of change—and even a pandemic—Sue’s leadership, compassion, and commitment have never wavered.

💙 The Town of Ellington is proud to have Sue as a leader and grateful for her lasting impact on our community.
