Ellington EMS Director, Craig Webb, briefs the Board of Selectmen on the status of Ellington's emergency medical services Monday night at the Board's regular monthly meeting. Webb announced the town took delivery of a new ambulance last week. Ellington EMS has responded to 1041 calls for service so far in 2026. Their average response time is less than 9 minutes. Ellington EMS is the primary responder for all basic life support medical calls in Ellington 24-hours a day. Responders are a combination of both paid and volunteer personnel. First responders include members of Ellington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department (CT), and Crystal Lake Fire Department. Additionally, Ellington EMS responds to calls in surrounding communities through a regional mutual aid compact.

It is with deep regret that the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of Life Member and former Assistant Chief Daniel Connors. Assistant Chief Connors joined the department in March of 1962 and served as an officer in the positions of Lieutenant, 2nd Assistant Chief and 1st Assistant Chief from 1971 until 1978. Our thoughts are with Chief Connors’ family and friends in this difficult time.
