April is Safe Schools Month in Maryland, a time to recognize that safe schools don’t happen by chance, but through shared responsibility and intentional action.

This month is a reminder of Maryland’s ongoing commitment to school safety and an invitation for each of us to play a role. Educators, families, students, school safety professionals, mental health providers, law enforcement, community leaders, businesses, and local agencies all contribute to this collective effort.
Together, we can continue building schools where every student feels supported, every educator feels prepared, and every community feels connected. maryland Maryland State Department of Education Maryland State Education Association
