With school back in session and lots of new drivers on the road, Code Enforcement wanted to inform all our new drivers and community members about some of the parking regulations for parking in Ellensburg.

Help the city and yourself by keeping these rules listed below in mind when choosing a parking location.

No parking:
· in an excess of 24 hours
· within 5 feet of a private/public driveway or alley
· within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
· within 20 feet of a crosswalk
· within 15 feet of a stop sign
· in a fire lane
· in an excess of 12 inches from the curb
· on the sidewalk
· against the flow of traffic
· in areas that have prohibited parking signage such as:
no parking anytime
no parking here to corner
no parking certain days/times

Please be sure to be mindful of all signs regarding parking on the public right-of-way. Questions? Contact code enforcement at (509) 962-7282.

Today, the Ellensburg Police Department joins our community and communities across the nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

There's still time to provide feedback on the City of Ellensburg’s draft Urban Forest Management Plan. The plan provides a roadmap for the future of Ellensburg’s urban forest and will help guide how we plant, maintain, protect, and grow our community’s trees.

The public comment period is open September 1 through September 14, 2026. Review the plan and share your thoughts with us!

Guardrail repairs are scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 9, at the intersections of Reecer Creek Road and University Way, and Reecer Creek Road and Highway 10.

Work will take place during daylight hours and is expected to be completed by the weekend. Flaggers and traffic control will be in place to keep crews and the traveling public safe.

No detours are planned. Please use caution in the area, follow flagger directions, and allow extra travel time.

The repairs are being funded by the insurance carriers for the drivers involved in the incidents that damaged the guardrails.
