In preparation for this move the Motor Vehicle office will be closed Tuesday June 2, 2026 to Thursday June 4, 2026 to get things all moved over. The office will reopen Friday June 5, 2026 in their new location at City Hall.

Temporary Relocation of the Motor Vehicle Office
The City of Ellendale wishes to inform all area residents that the local Motor Vehicle Office will be temporarily moving from its current location due to upcoming facility construction and renovations.
To ensure uninterrupted service to the community, all operations will temporarily transfer to Ellendale City Hall.
New Temporary Location & Timeline
• Temporary Address: Ellendale City Hall, 55 3rd Ave N, Ellendale, ND 58436
• Move Effective Date: Friday, June 5, 2026
• Expected Duration: The office will operate out of City Hall until construction at the permanent location is complete. A follow-up announcement will be made prior to moving back.
Note for Visitors: Please look for directional signage inside City Hall to guide you to the temporary Motor Vehicle service desk.

ATTENTION

Someone will be at the Senior Center Friday May 29, 2026 from 1:30-4 pm to have people come in if they had anything they wanted to pick up at the senior center in Ellendale from the personal things that were left there.

These things need to be picked up before renovations begin June 1.

Due to windy conditions continuing into tomorrow Recycle ND will be picking up residential recycling on Saturday May 16, 2026 and NOT on Friday.

Please make sure to stop pumping your sump pumps into sanitary sewers! We are down a pump and the other one is working overtime and we do not want to lost that one as well.

Recycle ND is running behind today Friday May 1, 2026 and will have two trucks in town this evening to pick up the remaining residential recycle bins.

Call for Proposals
The City of Ellendale hereby invites proposals for performing mowing services for the Ellendale City Cemetery. Services to be provided, at a minimum, shall include:
• Mowing entire area from road to fence line approx. 1200 ft X 780 ft= once every 10 days
• W**d eat (trim) all markers and trees- every 10 days
• Fill in holes, low spots, graves as needed (compost will be supplied by city)
• Remove branches, flowers and debris as needed
• Light pruning as needed
• Must be mowed and trimmed within 3 days before Memorial Day
• Contractor will supply all labor, tools, equipment, gas and oil needed
• Contractor is responsible for all damages done by their employees and equipment
• Contractor cannot cover stones with grass
• If there is any major storm damage. City Public Works will assist in clean up
• City of Ellendale will oversee for compliance by Contractor with these terms
• Contractor must be 18 or older to be awarded this Contract
• If work is not in compliance with stated specs City of Ellendale reserves the right to release contractor from the contract
The contract for mowing service shall run from May 12, 2026, through December 31, 2026. A copy of the contract may be reviewed at City Hall.
Please hand in all proposals by Friday May 8, 2026, to City Hall by 4 pm.
