📢 PINCH VFD COMMUNITY YARD SALE & BBQ FUNDRAISER 📢

Come support your local volunteer firefighters and snag some deals! The Pinch Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Community Yard Sale with BBQ to raise funds for new equipment. RAIN OR SHINE!

📅 When: Saturday, June 20th, 2026 from 8am-2pm
🍔 Food will be sold between 10am-2pm
📍 Where: Pinch Volunteer Fire Department Main Station, Pinch, WV

$15 per table - Don't have a table, rent one from us. Limited number of tables available

At 12:35pm this afternoon, Pinch VFD was dispatched for the Carbon Monoxide alarm at a residence on Crestview Dr. Engine 21 responded and checked the residence utilizing a 5 gas meter. After checking the residence, an all clear was given and all units cleared.

At 3:30pm, Pinch VFD was dispatched for the report of a trash fire in the 500 block of Elk River Rd South. Engine 21 responded and found a small fire beside the road. The fire was extinguished and units returned to service.

Our area has been placed under a flash flood watch as of earlier this afternoon. Be mindful of the rain that we have already received and that we are projected to get between now and 2am. If the creeks and ditch lines begin to overflow into the roadway, please do not try to drive through the high water. Turn around and find an alternate route.

At 5:55pm yesterday evening, Pinch VFD was dispatched for the single vehicle rollover reported to be on its top, in the creek, with confirmed entrapment in the 1800 block of New Hope Rd. Engine 21 arrived shortly after dispatch and found a single vehicle in the creek on its side with one occupant still in the vehicle with serious injuries. Initial units began assessing the driver and setting up for extrication. Squad 2, Engine 22, and Utility 25 arrived shortly after and assisted with extrication and stabilization operations. The patient was removed and turned over to the awaiting EMS crew.

At 8:38pm last night, Pinch VFD was dispatched for the single vehicle accident that struck a deer in the area of the 1 mile marker of I-79 northbound and no injuries. While enroute, Metro advised the accident was actually around the 2.5 mile marker northbound. Engine 22 arrived and found a single vehicle with moderate damage that had rolled and one occupant with minor injuries. Engine 21 and Utility 25 arrived shortly after and assisted with traffic. The truck lane and middle lane were closed for a short time while crews worked to clear the roadway.

Keep an eye on the mail, our annual donation letter should be arriving. Our citizens contributions makes up a large part of our operating budget. Without the community support we couldn't continue to provide such great service. Thanks in advance for any help and remember any donations to the department are a tax write off.

At 7:01pm this evening, Pinch VFD was dispatched for the fire alarm at Hanson Chapel Church, but no signs of smoke or fire in the building. Engine 21 responded and checked the building and determined it to be faulty smoke detectors.
