Today is International Family Day 💙

Family means something different to everyone—but at its heart, it’s about connection, support, and showing up when it matters most.

For many children in foster care, family can feel uncertain. At CASA of Cecil County, child safety is always our top priority. We support the goal of safe reunification whenever possible—working to strengthen families so children can return home to stable, supportive environments.

CASA volunteers provide a consistent, caring presence and advocate for services and resources that help families heal, grow, and stay together, always with the child’s best interests at the center.

Today, we celebrate all the people who help create stability and belonging, foster families, kinship caregivers, mentors, and advocates, and the ongoing work of strengthening families in our community.

Because every child deserves a safe, supported family.

Because of our donors, children in foster care don’t have to navigate the system alone.

A child has a voice in court. Their educational needs are advocated for. Their medical and mental health needs are supported. And through it all, a consistent, caring adult shows up.

This is the impact of your generosity. This is what it means to be the voice for a child.

Today, we honor all the people who show up with love, patience, and care for children, mothers, grandmothers, foster parents, kinship caregivers, and trusted adults who step in when it matters most. 💙

At CASA of Cecil County, we see every day how powerful a caring, consistent presence can be in a child’s life. For many children in foster care, “mother” may mean someone who chose them, stood by them, and advocated for their future.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all the ways families are formed and all those who help children feel safe, seen, and supported.
