We are proud to announce that Captain Jakop Smith has successfully graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy of Police Supervision
(APS) on Friday, May 15th. Chief Robert Toombs, Sergeant David Hutcheson, and Captain Smith’s family attended the ceremony Friday.

The APS program is a highly respected leadership course designed for law enforcement supervisors, focusing on critical skills such as ethical decision-making, problem solving, situational leadership, and effective communication-tools essential for leading both officers and the community.
This three-week program prepares leaders to meet the ever-changing challenges of modern law enforcement and to better serve their agencies and communities.

We are proud of Captain Smith’s commitment to professional development and leadership. His continued dedication to growth strengthens not only our department, but the service we provide to our community every day.

📢🚨Weather Sirens will be tested today!!!🚨📢

Please take note that today at noon, officials will be testing the county weather sirens. Other systems may be tested as well individually but all test should be contained to a time frame of about 3-5 minutes. This is to ensure our audible weather alert systems are functioning properly. As always, do not solely rely on weather sirens. Have other options to tune in on the event of severe weather. Have a battery powered weather radio and/or weather apps for your phone capable of notifying you of any impending severe weather.
