We have received multiple reports today of this scam targeting residents with a "Final Enforcement Notice" for alleged traffic violations. This scam has circulated before in our area and is circulating again via text messages.

⚠️ These notices are NOT legitimate. ⚠️

• Do NOT scan the QR code or send payment
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Verify any court-related matter directly through the court by looking up the courts phone number yourself – Do NOT rely on any phone number provided in a suspicious notice.

UPDATE: The dirt bike has been recovered and returned. The investigation is ongoing into the suspect that stole the dirt bike. If you have any information please contact the police department.

The Elkton Police Department is investigating a larceny of a dirt bike that occurred in the early morning hours on 12/7/25 from the Florist Rd area. If anyone has any information about the dirt bike in the picture, please contact Officer Johnson at 540-298-9441.

The Elkton Police Department is working a larceny that occurred at Frankie and Mertal’s Garden Spot on 11/16/25. Several plants were stolen by the male in the photo. If you can identify him, please contact the Elkton Police Department at 540-298-9441.

UPDATE: The roadway has been reopened.

Please avoid the area of Old Spotswood Trail in between N 1st Street and the water treatment plant due to a traffic accident. The road will be shutdown for an undetermined amount of time. Thank you.
