Your charger doesn't care that you've unplugged it. A battery can fail hours later.

Inspectors are seeing more of these calls: e-bikes, e-scooters, power tools, phones, all charging on beds, couches, stairwells.

This year's message is simple. Use the charger made for the device. Charge on a hard surface, away from exits.

Never overnight in a spot you can't see!

🔥 REMINDER — OPEN BURNING HAS NOT REOPENED

We know everyone has some yard waste they’re ready to get rid of, but open burning remains closed in Elko County.

Even though we’re starting to see cooler days and cold mornings, fire danger remains high. Our vegetation is still dry and very capable of carrying fire.

Please continue to hold off on burning until restrictions are officially lifted.

🍂 Cooler mornings don’t mean fire season is over just yet.

Thank you for helping us prevent the next wildfire.
