⛈️Special Weather Alert⛈️

Hi everyone!
As we move through the day, we are getting more and more forecasts that are pointing to a potentially dangerous situation Tuesday (3/10). Severe storms are predicted to be starting towards the afternoon Tuesday and continue throughout the night into Wednesday morning. These storms will be capable of strong damaging winds, hail up to 2.5 inches, and a chance for strong, long tracking tornadoes. Stay alert and have a device capable of warning you close as these storms are still unpredictable as we sadly learned this past week with the tragedies in Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers go to all those affected.

In your safe space make sure to have some form of closed toed shoes for your entire family as well as flashlights, preparedness goes a long way.
For continuous storm coverage on Tuesday, stay tuned to the local news channels and if you prefer other options, there are several reliable ones including
- Meteorologist Max Velocity: who goes live across social media including YouTube providing minute by minute updates
- Ryan Hall, Y'all: also goes live across social media including YouTube providing minute by minute updates as well as has a 24/7 channel operated by his team

It is with saddened and heavy hearts that the Officer's, and Members of the Osolo Township Fire Department announce the passing of Joann E. Miller, 93, of Bristol. While Joann was not an actual firefighter, she was a lifetime member who assisted with the organization, building and staffing of the department since its inception in 1958. Many firefighters have considered her as the departmental mother of Osolo. Over the years, Joann was a planner, organizer, assisted with the creation of the by-laws of the department and served as an unofficial 911 operator, dispatcher, and chief Cook and bottle washer whenever the firefighters needed her help. She also assisted in the organization of the departments first Ladies Auxiliary. Not only was Joann an integral part of the formation of the department, her husband Harvy J. Miller and sons Jim, Jerry, and Jeff Miller all served as either Fire Chief or Assistant Chief over a period of time that would add up to over a half- century of service. Please join us in leaving a comment or memory about Joann if you have one. Her services have been entrusted to Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart and are scheduled for this Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at a time TBA. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery Bristol. Her full obit will be posted shortly on the Billings Funeral Home website.

🚨FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE🚨

Today, around 3:50 in the afternoon, members of A-Shift and Osolo Ems were dispatched for a reported drowning in the St. Joseph River at the 6-Span Bridge on County Road 17. Units arrived on scene to find the patient under one of the bridge spans, thankfully conscious and breathing. Osolo Fire deployed rescue swimmers who made contact with the patient and, thanks to an outstanding member of the public who let us utilize their personal canoe, proceeded to load the patient into the canoe and back to shore. Due to conflicting reports of a possible second victim, members of DNR and Elkhart Fire’s Water Rescue Team utilized drones and Elkhart’s boat to search along the shorelines of the river. Thankfully no additional victims were found. We would like to thank all our mutual aid agencies in Elkhart Firefighters Local 338, Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, and Indiana DNR Division of Law Enforcement for all of their help!

Although the holiday season has passed, we still find ourselves being lucky enough to receive amazing donations. The basket in the photo was generously donated by Towne Fire and Water Damage Restoration and we can’t thank them enough for it! We’d also like to thank Paul Davis Restoration who recently donated a package containing donuts and coffee which, to no surprise, did not last long around the guys 😅
We thank you for the continued support and we look to continue providing the best possible coverage for everyone!
