There is a newer type of scam circulating in the area. It uses artificial intelligence to exploit public records and mimics official letterheads of your local municipality. A key warning sign in these frauds is any request to wire funds. If you encounter such a request, please refrain from complying and report it immediately to our department for verification.

On Aug. 4th, there was a serious injury hit and run involving a pedestrian that occurred in the village. Since then, our officers have been working diligently to identify the suspect. Part of which included canvasing, interviewing, and completing multiple search warrants.

The driver was identified and interviewed. The vehicle involved is in our possession for processing and charges are being reviewed by the Prosecutor.

There is much more work to be done; however, I wanted to share the news and recognize the teamwork of our officers. But most importantly, that the victim is doing well!
