It was an honor to recognize my friend and long- time educator / Past President of Elk Grove Education Association Maggie Ellis. She is officially retiring. She is a force at EGUSD. We worked on a number of initiatives together during my tenure as a school board member. We worked on improving collaboration between Labor and Management and bringing the Parent/ Teacher Home Visitation Project to the district. This evolved into the Family & Community Engagement Department. There is no doubt she played a vital role improving public education for students, teachers and the entire school district.

I’m extremely grateful to the Sacramento Association of Realtors for their endorsement in my school board candidacy. We share a core belief that strong schools create strong, thriving communities. When families have access to supportive learning environments, neighborhoods become places where people can truly put down roots. Thank you to the Realtors who help families find not just a home, but a community to belong to.

Halfway through 2026, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge the community that makes this work possible.

This association exists to stand behind our members and the families connected to them. Whether the day brings good news or hard news, our job is to be there. That has not changed in six months. It will not change in the next six.

The second half of the year typically brings the highest demand for everything we do. We are ready for it, and we are grateful for the community standing with us going in.
