Welcome to Chicks in Crisis – Empowering Families, One Step at a Time! At Chicks in Crisis, we're dedicated to supporting young parents, especially students and those from low-income households, as they face the unique challenges of parenthood. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and empower young parents to achieve their full potential while ensuring the health and stability of their fam

ilies. Our primary goal is to reduce the number of babies and children entering foster care by providing essential support services, educational opportunities, and advocacy. We work with pregnant and parenting teens, women, and dads of all ages to ensure they stay in school, maintain family size, and pursue secondary education or vocational training. Through our efforts, we assist an average of 650 household members each month, providing over 20,000 essential items such as diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing. However, none of this would be possible without the generous support of our community. Chicks in Crisis relies on donations, corporate grants, individual grants, and fundraising to support our programs and services. Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue our mission of reducing infant abandonment, foster care placements, abuse, and neglect. As temperatures rise, we're working to keep the children we serve comfortable and ready for summer, but we need your help!

We are currently accepting new and gently used children's summer clothing in all sizes. Our greatest needs right now are:

👦 Boys 12 Months
👦 Boys 18–24 Months
👦 Boys 2T
👦 Boys 5–6

👧 Girls 9–12 Months
👧 Girls 24 Months

Every donation helps provide essential clothing to local families and children in need throughout our community.

⭐🩷 Volunteer Spotlight: Celebrating Mark Mendenhall 🩷⭐

Some volunteers leave an impact. Others become family.

We first met Mark Mendenhall in 2020 when he generously offered his time and talents to support Chicks in Crisis. Since then, Mark has been a constant source of support, kindness, and dedication. From fixing repairs around the ranch and building meaningful projects to volunteering at events and always showing up with a smile, Mark has helped our organization in countless ways.

This past Saturday, Mark celebrated his 70th birthday surrounded by family and friends. In lieu of gifts, they raised more than $1,600 to support the mission of Chicks in Crisis and the families we serve. What an incredible reflection of the generous and caring person Mark is.

Mark, words cannot fully express how grateful we are for everything you have done for our organization. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing your wisdom, offering encouragement, or simply being there when we needed you most, your impact has been immeasurable. You have supported us through challenges, celebrated our successes, and helped us continue serving families throughout our community.

A special thank you to your wonderful wife, Paula, for her support and for sharing Mark with us over the years. We appreciate and love you both more than you know.

🕊️🤍 Reminder: Our office is closed today, June 9, as we honor and celebrate the life of Johnny Wayne Tiner, the "Rio Linda Rocket" and beloved father of our own Sherry Tiner-Kennedy.

Today, we join Sherry and her family in remembering a life well lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
