That’s a wrap on this year’s Fall Safety Week! Thanks for tuning in and following along with our SROs all week long.

Remember: safety is a team effort, and we all play a role.

Parents and guardians, please take a moment this weekend to talk with your student(s) about what they learned - from staying alert on their walk to school and managing e-bikes, to practicing digital safety and following emergency procedures.

Let's keep these good habits going all year long!

09/10/2026

As e-bikes and e-scooters become more popular, keeping our students and campus safe remains our top priority!

School Resource Officer, Brian Diaz, is here to share an important safety reminder: E-bikes and e-scooters are not permitted on school grounds at any time.

It’s officially Safety Week here in CCSD59 and to kick-off this important week, we want to remind families that we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to help everyone know what to do when something happens at school.

Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.

Take a few minutes to get to know the five actions we use to help keep our school community safe. Watch “5 Minutes, 5 Actions: The Standard Response Protocol” from The "I Love U Guys" Foundation.

Ridge Family Center for Learning second graders took their bridge unit into the real world with a field trip to Busse Woods in Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois! Students explored two local pedestrian bridges, identified their different designs, and put their knowledge to work.

They also had the chance to learn from Nicholas & Associates, Inc. engineers.

From classroom concepts to real-world connections, our students are seeing how what they learn can make an impact beyond the classroom.
