As temperatures warm late this afternoon through this evening, the freezing rain/drizzle will become all rain/drizzle. Even with warmer air temperatures, slick spots will still be present on untreated surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses. Untreated parking lots and sidewalks will also remain slick due to the frozen ground.

Cellular customers living in or traveling through the Northwest Central Dispatch System (NWCDS) service areas may use their mobile phones to send a text message to 9-1-1 for emergency assistance.

Although NWCDS accepts texts to 9-1-1, many surrounding areas do not. So, the best way to contact 9-1-1 continues to be a voice call whenever possible.

The NWCDS service areas includes Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg and Streamwood.

Modifications to Governor Pritzker's Stay-at-Home order go into effect on Friday, May 1. The modified version will require everyone over the age of 2 wear face covering when in a public place where six-foot social distancing cannot be maintained. Face-coverings will be required in public indoor spaces, such as stores and pharmacies.

Cloth face-coverings can be made from items around your home, such as a scarf or cloth napkin. The CDC provides step-by-step instructions for sew and no sew face coverings: https://bit.ly/2SlNUmR

Let's not lose sight of why this page was created. It was created because a group of outsiders along with a few village residents came out against this village--- against some of our ESSENTIAL small business owners and volunteers- and were ready to full throttle defame and damage this community.

They lost.

Some of them think we will forget and will GASLIGHT residents into thinking they now care about the essential workers they once defamed in mailers, robocalls and lite brite truck appearances.

We will not be gaslit.

We will not forget.

Thank You Front Line Workers & First Responders! We appreciate you! โคโค๐Ÿ˜ท**Share pics of your green ribbons in the comment...

The Village recently announced that as part of its Coronavirus Relief Package, all households will receive $200 credit on their water bills beginning in May or June (based on the bi-monthly bill schedule). We realize some residents have received their April water bills, which do not yet display a credit.

Though the credit does not appear, residents with a past due balance or bill due for the month of March or April may choose to defer payment and wait for their $200 water credit to apply in May or June to cover current or past due bills. There will be no fees or penalties associated with deferring payment, as the relief package also includes a grace period for all payments to the Village through May 31, 2020.

The credit will be applied until the $200 is exhausted. Because the average residential water bill in Elk Grove Village is $84, itโ€™s likely most customers will be able to take advantage of the credit for at least two to three billing cycles.

In summary: the $200 credit will begin appearing on water bills in May, and will apply toward any current or past due bills.

For specific questions about your water bill, please contact Utility Billing staff at (847) 357-4060.

For more information on the Coronavirus Relief Package, please visit the Village website (https://bit.ly/3e5f2Qr).
