VA TOWNHALL IN WOODWARD
Hello, this is Katrina Yoakum, the Oklahoma City VA healthcare system, veteran experience officer, and on behalf of Wade Velosage, the director, we want to inform you that the OKCVA will host an interactive Access Live broadcast that will take place on Thursday, May 21st, from 1130 AM to 1230 PM. During the virtual telly town hall. We will provide information about the OKC VA services and give you an opportunity to ask questions of our OKC VA medical experts with one on one interaction throughout this hour long call. We will talk about our upcoming in person community engagement event held by the Oklahoma City VA on Thursday, May 28th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the High Plains Technology Center, at 3921 34th Street in Woodward, Oklahoma. We'll also talk about the OKC VA expansion. New services offered, changes to the VA eligibility, and how you may now qualify or get extended benefits under the Pact Act of 2022. If for any reason you do not receive a call from us around that time. You may also dial to participate by calling 833-305-1730. ATTENTION Please, we will be meeting at Poppy's Pit & Grill on Saturday March 7th. For this meeting we've had to change that time to 2pm. This time will be for this meeting only. The time will return to 11 in April. We HIGHLY encourage our members to come to this meeting as there will be much to discuss. We need the membership as major decisions are on the horizon.

A reminder to all who have been following us (our beloved community), we are absolutely working towards helping our veterans, but in a post that had membership losses over the years (they were down to 2), we are in the process of rebuilding our membership, . We need to work on things that will help us with the income of funds to be able to help others. Please bear with us as we work our way back to a full-service VFW Post.

We also look to the community to help us out. Look for our tent. We will be selling Support Tee shirts at various events, hot dog sales in a variety of places, and events we can go where we can give out information. We are looking to place the booth at several different events available in the summer months.
If any veteran has interest in joining, please come and check us out. Bring your DD-214 or if any family members who wish to help with our Auxiliary, please message us, we will give you information on the Auxiliary, they are also looking for help.
Lastly, we wish to thank the community; this past year we struggled but YOU showed up. We continue to work on finding our footing in this space. We THANK-YOU for all the support given and shown by our community, the businesses that have contributed. Elk City and the surrounding communities …..YOU ROCK!

Reminder... meeting March 7th, 11AM, Poppy's Pit & Grill. We will be opening our elections for next service year, it's that time of year! Encouraging all current members please come to the meeting. If you're interested in a position please let Commander Faison know.
