Introducing our inaugural Fire Sciences class at Donald R. Kline Technical School! This program teaches students the skills to become a paid or volunteer firefighter by completing the NYS Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations with Hazardous Material First Responder Operation courses. Students are also required to serve as a volunteer with their local fire district. We can't wait to watch this program grow! 1/7/2022 - We are deeply saddened to report that former Second Assistant Chief Thomas Shumsky passed away this morning. He was a member of Becraft Pumper Co. No. 2 and prior to becoming a Chief officer, held the positions of Lieutenant and Captain in that company. Prior to coming to Greenport, he served with Stottville and Livingston fire companies. Services will be announced in the days to come. Please keep the Shumsky family in your thoughts and prayers.
