There is no love on this Earth quite like a Barred Owl mother’s love.
She doesn’t get a maternity break.
She doesn’t get rest.
She doesn’t get applause.

She protects. She feeds. She teaches.
She would die for this baby without hesitation.

And right now humans are taking her away. Across the West Coast, mothers like her are being lured out of their forests and removed. This spring babies orphaned, starving, and terrified.

POV: I’m waiting for my parents to come home.

They were lured out of our forest, catfished by the sound of their own hoot, and never returned. I don’t know that yet… I’m just waiting. Please share this so more people see what’s being done to us. 🦉💔
