The Carter County Emergency Communications District is a public safety answering and dispatch point for police, fire, emergency medical, and emergency management services within Carter County. Our mission is to: serve as the communications link between the citizen and public safety agencies; accurate identification of the citizen's location and public safety response needs; fast and accurate activ

ation of public safety services; provide communications support and coordination for all county public safety and support agencies. In carrying out our mission, we recognize that service is our one and only product and we share a common, ongoing goal to provide it at the most superior level possible. We also recognize that our strength and success is tied directly to the individual and unique contributions of each of us working in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with our public safety associates both within and outside the center.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Carter County Sheriff's Office L.E.A.D. Academy to Carter County Emergency Communications! We enjoyed spending a few hours with these outstanding students, giving them an inside look at the world of 911 and emergency communications.
From learning how calls are processed to how dispatchers coordinate responses with first responders, we hope everyone left with a greater appreciation for the dedicated professionals working behind the scenes 24/7 to keep our community safe.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us today. We loved sharing what we do and hope to have inspired a few future public safety professionals along the way!

LEAVE THEM ALONE!
It’s Fawn season here in the Northeast Tennessee hills. You might spot a young fawn (“baby deer”) that LOOKS like it’s been abandoned. Have no fear - mom is nearby, hiding while keeping an eye on her fawn (and on you too!). Adult deer have a strong scent, but fawns are almost scentless. So mama deer keeps her little ones safe from predators by keeping a short distance away. She returns to nurse when she’s sure it’s safe - and that safety includes us humans staying away! Once junior is strong enough to keep up with mom, they’ll be traveling together. So please, enjoy seeing young deer, but don’t get too close, and especially don’t let your presence attract predators!

Fire is contained inside containment lines. The Forest service has begun back fire operations.

Smoke will increase in the area over the next few hours.

Hampton Vol Fire department will remain on site alongside TN Division of Forestry providing structure protection throughout the duration of back fire operations.
