The Elizabeth Nursery Company, once located on Wilder Street and on Broad Street, employed over 100 people in shipping and distribution alone.  They preserved the variety of thousands of trees, shrubs, flowers and fruits. They had in stock 150 variety of  azaleas 🌺 and planted over 80 variety of azaleas in Warinanco park.

Another tragic loss this monarch of the Forest the strongest tree with the firmest roots taken down for what!! There is nothing wrong no illness nothing. No preservation of the seed of such a fine tree. So sad 😞 so wrong that tree provided clean air food and guarded against flood! This is pure foolishness is asleep you are losing your charm with the number if trees that have come down this summer! Leave something for you children.

I when by a field where the main nursery used to be and found these
Herb: Porcelain Berry
Latin name: Ampelopsis brevipedunculata
Synonyms: Ampelopsis heterophylla amurensis, Cissus brevipedunculata
Family: Vitaceae (Grape Family)

Medicinal use of Porcelain Berry: The fresh fruits, roots and leaves are antiphlogistic, depurative and febrifuge. Resolves clots. It is used externally in the treatment of boils, abscesses and ulcers, traumatic bruises and aches.

Most Medicinal Herbs are called weeds it is to further disconnect us from nature. For example dandelions were brought by the Dutch They are edible medicinal just like young maple leaves on the sycamore that grow in abundance around the trunk were also used in salads and they would tap the trees in the spring and summer for fresh drinking water. Scientist today understand that the water in the rainforest doesn’t come from the sky but from the trees. Has humankind forgotten the tree of life it symbolizes it speaks to us for my ancestors trees are life without trees we will have no life.
