There is no fire downtown and crews are currently investigating a faulty electrical component. There is no cause for concern and all reported conditions have been addressed.

The Albemarle Firefighters' Association (AFA) is hosting its first annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 20, 2026 at Occano Golf Course in Merry Hill, NC.

The AFA serves 35 volunteer and career Fire Departments across 10 counties in Eastern NC. We assist with sick and injured firefighters, provide educational scholarships for members and their immediate families and deliver crucial training for the firefighters who keep your communities safe.

The AFA is seeking sponsorships at three different levels (see attached). Each level has its own perks and sponsors will receive a donation receipt for tax deductions. If you would like to use your company logo instead of just the company name on sponsorship banners, shirts, etc. please provide that picture as well.

Over the past two years and in partnership with Pasquotank County High School (PCHS), the Elizabeth City Fire Department (ECFD) has hosted PCHS Senior and ECFD Intern Colby McKethan as she pursues a future career in the Fire Service. We like to think that we have taught Colby many things, both about Firefighting and life, but the truth is, she has likely taught us much more including strength, hard work, and resilience. Colby is seen here signing her official commitment to Barton College, on a Track & Field Scholarship, as she plans to study Forensic (Fire) Sciences. They say it takes a village and we could not be prouder to have had a small part in raising this one. Best wishes, Colby, and see you soon!!
