Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history.

At Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools, we believe education plays an important role in fostering understanding, celebrating diverse perspectives, and preparing students to be informed and engaged citizens.

As we reflect on this significant day, we encourage our students, families, staff, and community to learn, remember, and celebrate the enduring values of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

Happy Juneteenth 💙💛

🌍✈️ ECPPS educators are taking learning beyond the classroom and across the globe!

This summer, five ECPPS educators are CURRENTLY in Africa, participating in the Botswana–Zambia International Program through NC Go Global, bringing back new perspectives, cultural experiences, and innovative ideas to share with students and colleagues throughout our district.

We are proud to invest in educators who continue to learn, grow, and lead on a global scale. Safe travels, and thank you for representing ECPPS around the world! 🌎💙💛

Last week, we gathered to celebrate our amazing international teachers! 🌎❤️

We shared food from our different cultures and taught each other songs, sayings, and dances from our home countries. Representing Jamaica, the Philippines, the Bahamas, Chile, Zambia, Honduras, Colombia, Kenya, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United States, these educators bring so much to our schools and community.

Thank you for sharing your cultures, your talents, and your hearts with ECPPS. What a fun night of learning, laughter, and celebration!
