Kids got to see Life Net and talk with EMT

Elgin F&R provided a extra education training for the both high schools. Special thanks to the Nebraska Highway Patrol, Antelope County Sheriff’s Department and Bill Pfeiffer with the State Fire Marshal.

This Thursday, September 17th, from 1:15 to 3:15 pm, the Elgin Fire & Rescue squads, the State Fire Marshall, LifeNet, Nebraska State Patrol, and others will be participating in a mock car accident training event at the St. Boniface gym parking lot. Please use caution when traveling in the area as there will be a lot of activities occurring. The side roads to this area will be blocked off during this time, and will re-open in time for school pickup and bus routes. LifeNet will be landing at the baseball field. The sirens will sound at 1:15 pm, as they would with a real accident. Our 7th-12th grade students from both schools have been invited to watch the training. Thank you for supporting your local first responders.🚒🚑🚔🚁

Black Hills Energy has a program that provides funding to volunteer fire departments and rural fire districts for equipment, training, and safety needs.

* The program recognizes employees who volunteer as firefighters or first responders.
* Since 2001, the Black Hills Corporation Foundation has given more than $9.6 million to over 600 organizations across the eight states where Black Hills Energy operates.
* The grants help departments purchase or replace important firefighting and rescue equipment.

With this being said. A big thank you from Elgin Fire & Rescue!
