Our firefighters are participating in a recruitment event at Central Texas Regional Training Academy today to connect with members of the community and share what it means to serve as a firefighter. This event provides an opportunity for interested individuals to meet our firefighters, learn more about the department, ask questions, and explore the training and career opportunities available in the fire service. We are proud to have our members representing the department, building community relationships, and encouraging others to consider joining our team and making a difference through service.

๐Ÿš’ EXCITING NEWS FOR OUR COMMUNITY! ๐Ÿš’

Weโ€™re proud to announce the upcoming addition of four new fire apparatus to our fleet, with deliveries beginning in the 1st Quarter of 2027:

๐Ÿ”ฅ 1 New Engine
๐Ÿ’ง 1 New Tender
๐ŸŒฒ 2 New Brush Trucks

These investments represent our continued commitment to strengthening our response capabilities, replacing aging equipment, and providing the highest level of fire and emergency services to the communities we proudly serve.

We are excited about what these new apparatus will bring to our department and, most importantly, to the citizens we serve every day.

Better equipment. Greater capabilities. Stronger service.

Today, Chief Botello and Battalion Chief Denzler had the privilege of being invited to speak with the newly hired EMS telecommunication operators of Bastrop County ESD No. 3.
The introductions, conversations, and open exchange of questions and answers were an excellent opportunity to begin building the professional relationships that will be essential to our continued success as partner agencies.
We were able to share more about our department, our operations, and the unique challenges of serving a multi-county jurisdiction. Just as importantly, we had the opportunity to discuss our operational relationship moving forward and how our agencies will work together beginning October 1, 2026, when Bastrop County ESD No. 3 goes live.
Strong communication, mutual understanding, and teamwork between our dispatchers, field personnel, and leadership will be critical as we work together to minimize operational issues, improve coordination, and ultimately provide the highest level of emergency care and service to the citizens we serve.
We appreciate the invitation and look forward to building a strong working relationship with the entire Bastrop County ESD No. 3 team. This is the beginning of a great partnership, and we are excited about what we can accomplish together.

A FIRST FOR BASTROP COUNTY!

Bastrop Travis Counties ESD No. 1 is proud to become the first fire department in Bastrop County licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as an Advanced Life Support Provider!

This accomplishment represents countless hours of advanced medical education, provider credentialing and medical director review, specialized equipment purchases, significant investment in lifesaving technology, and a rigorous DSHS inspection and licensing process.

But the reason behind all of it is simple:

To provide the highest level of advanced life support medical care possible when our community needs it most.

This is a major milestone for our organization and, most importantly, for the citizens we serve. We look forward to working side by side with Bastrop County ESD3 and Austin Travis County EMS on medical emergencies providing the best possible medical care.

A special Thanks to Travis County Clinical Performance and Education (DCPE) and Doctor Taylor Ratcliff our Medical Director for their continued support and training.
