Schleicher County is under an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms today. Strong storms are expected to develop late this afternoon and evening. Storms may begin forming as early as 4:00 PM and are expected to move out of the area by approximately 1:00 AM. Residents should be prepared for large to very large hail, potentially up to softball size, capable of causing significant damage to vehicles, roofs, and windows. Damaging winds with gusts up to 75 mph may also occur and could result in downed trees, power outages, and structural damage. Storms may produce tornadoes with little warning. In addition, heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas, city streets, and low-water crossings. Recommended precautions include: Monitoring weather updates for changing conditions. Securing outdoor items such as patio furniture, trash cans, and decorations that could become airborne in strong winds. Protecting vehicles by parking in a garage or covered area to reduce potential hail damage. Preparing for possible power outages by charging phones and keeping flashlights and extra batteries available. Having a safe shelter plan in place. Identify a small interior room on the lowest floor of your home, away from windows, in case a tornado warning is issued. Avoiding flooded areas and never driving through flooded roadways or low-water crossings. Turn around if water covers the road. Residents are urged to remain weather aware this evening and be ready to act quickly if severe weather warnings are issued. Stay safe and take precautions to protect your family and property.

This is what we are looking at weather wise Friday & Saturday in our area. So please prepair.
A strong cold front is expected to move into our area late Friday into Saturday, bringing significantly cooler temperatures and wintry precipitation risks. Forecasts show increasing clouds and chances for rain Friday afternoon and night, with temperatures dropping to around or below freezing by Saturday. There is a chance of rain mixing with freezing rain or sleet Saturday, especially where temperatures fall into the 30s and lower 20s Saturday night. Travel conditions could deteriorate due to slick spots if freezing precipitation occurs. Please stay weather-aware, check official updates frequently, and plan accordingly. Do not travel if you do not have to. If you have to please ensure you have warm coats or even a blankets in case of emergency ..
