🚁 Training Today with Phelps Air! 🚑

Today, Miller County Ambulance District’s on-duty crews had the privilege of traveling to Tuscumbia for some valuable training with Phelps Air!

Three of our on-duty crews have orientees with them today, giving our newest team members the opportunity to learn firsthand about helicopter operations, landing zone safety, patient loading, and working alongside air medical crews.

Training opportunities like this are extremely valuable. When the need arises to utilize an air medical helicopter, our ground crews need to be prepared to work safely and efficiently alongside the flight crew to provide our patients with the best possible care.

🚑🤝🚁 Teamwork and training are essential to smooth operations and quality patient care!

A big THANK YOU to Phelps Air for taking the time to train with our crews and provide this opportunity!

We also want to thank our dedicated MCAD crews for continuing to learn, train, and prepare for whatever the next call may bring.

Lawn Care and Snow Removal Services

Introduction

The Miller County Ambulance District (MCAD), a political subdivision of the State of Missouri, invites sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide lawn care and snow removal services for its four ambulance stations. The District prefers one contractor for both services but reserves the right to award separate contracts.

Service Locations

Station 1 –
1304 S. Aurora St., Eldon, MO 65026

Station 3 –
303 State St., Iberia, MO 65486

Station 4 –
314 Vine St., St. Elizabeth, MO 65075

Station 5 –
1830 Hwy 52, Tuscumbia, MO 65082

Scope of Lawn Care

Mow, trim, edge, and blow off paved surfaces.
Maintain grass at approximately 3–5 inches.
Seasonal w**d control and leaf removal as needed.
Protect District property and report any damage immediately.

Scope of Snow Removal

Begin service at approximately 2 inches of snowfall.
Maintain 24/7 emergency vehicle access.
Plow drives and parking lots, clear sidewalks and entrances, apply deicer as needed.
Respond throughout extended weather events.
Contractor Requirements
Provide proof of liability insurance, workers' compensation (if applicable), three commercial references, business information, and available equipment. Certificate of Insurance naming MCAD as Additional Insured required before contract ex*****on.

Evaluation
Award will be based on best overall value considering cost, experience, reliability, equipment, references, responsiveness, and ability to serve all four stations. The District is not obligated to accept the lowest bid.

Over the past few weeks, Miller County Ambulance District has been busy—not only responding to 911 emergencies, but also serving our communities at local events across the county!

🚑 Saturday, July 25, 2026
Unit 3, staffed by Jamie L., NREMT and Josh D., NRP, provided EMS coverage for the St. Anthony Tractor Pull. Despite the summer heat, it was a great evening filled with community spirit and plenty of fun!

🎡 That same weekend, Unit 4 was on hand providing coverage at the St. Elizabeth Picnic, helping ensure everyone could enjoy the festivities safely.

🎉 Saturday, August 1, 2026
QRV 1 (Quick Response Vehicle), staffed by Jess W., NREMT and Stacie J., NREMT, attended the Tuscumbia Picnic and Celebration as the community celebrated 100 years of history. Congratulations to the City of Tuscumbia on this incredible milestone! We were honored to be part of the celebration and look forward to the next 100 years.

Many people ask if our crews are taken out of service while attending these events. The answer is no. Our on-duty crews remain fully in service and ready to respond to 911 emergencies at a moment’s notice. Being present at these community events allows us to interact with the public, provide immediate medical assistance if needed, and continue serving our response areas without interruption.

Thank you to our dedicated crews for their professionalism and commitment, and thank you to the citizens of Miller County for your continued support of the Miller County Ambulance District. We are proud to serve this community—both during emergencies and at the events that bring us all together.

🚑 Training Through Partnership 🚒

Last week, Miller County Ambulance District Unit 2 had the opportunity to train with the crews from Osage Beach Fire Protection District during an ambulance familiarization session.

A special thank you to Battalion Chief Raymond P., Paramedic, and Jacob R., EMT, for taking the time out of their day to share their knowledge and help strengthen the partnership between our agencies.

Training together builds confidence, improves communication, and ensures we’re all prepared to work seamlessly when responding to emergencies. When public safety agencies train together, every scene runs more efficiently—and ultimately provides better service to the citizens we serve.

Thank you to the Osage Beach Fire Protection District for your continued partnership and support of MCAD. We look forward to many more opportunities to train and serve alongside you!

Miller County Ambulance District

Today, we remember a true icon whose impact on EMS and the fire service reached far beyond the television screen.

The 1970s television series Emergency! inspired literally thousands of men and women to pursue careers in EMS and the fire service, helping pave the way for modern prehospital emergency care in America. Randolph Mantooth’s portrayal of John Gage introduced an entire generation to the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of emergency responders.

For many of today’s paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and dispatchers, Emergency! was more than entertainment—it was the inspiration that sparked a lifelong calling to serve others.

Thank you, Randolph Mantooth, for being an ambassador for EMS and for helping shape the profession we are proud to serve today.

Rest in peace, John Gage. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations of first responders. ❤️🚑🚒

Today, Miller County Ambulance District proudly recognizes International Paramedics Day and the dedicated paramedics who serve our community every day!

Being a paramedic is more than a job. It means answering the call at all hours, making critical decisions in difficult moments, and providing compassionate, advanced medical care when our patients need it most.

We are incredibly proud of the paramedics who call MCAD home. Your dedication, knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to the citizens and visitors of Miller County do not go unnoticed.

Today, we celebrate YOU and paramedics across the world who continue to make a difference, one patient and one call at a time.

🇺🇸🎆 A BUSY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND! 🚑🇺🇸

Miller County Ambulance District had a busy and exciting 4th of July weekend! Our crews participated in the 4th of July parade, attended several community fireworks shows, and truly enjoyed spending time with the communities we are proud to serve! ❤️🤍💙

While enjoying the holiday festivities, our crews also responded to several high-acuity calls throughout the weekend and into yesterday. We want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of our dedicated MCAD crews who continue to answer the call and provide exceptional care to our community! 🚑💙

We also want to extend a huge THANK YOU to our mutual aid partners, flight crews, dispatchers, and fire crews who work alongside us! Emergency services is truly a team effort, and we are grateful for the strong partnerships we have throughout our area. 🚒🚁📞🚑

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who serve behind the wheel, behind the badge, behind the hose, and behind the headset.

To the EMS dads, fire dads, police dads, dispatch dads, stepdads, bonus dads, grandpas, uncles, mentors, and father figures:

Your kids see more than you think.

They see the missed dinners.
They see the tired eyes.
They see the boots by the door.
They hear the radio.
They know the tones.
They feel the shift work.
They notice when you leave to help someone else’s family, then come home and still try to be present for your own.

Fatherhood is not just biology.

It is sacrifice.
It is protection.
It is patience.
It is showing up.
It is teaching strength without losing softness.
It is carrying the weight of the job and still making room for love at home.

To the EMS dads running calls today…
To the fire dads spending Father’s Day at the station…
To the police dads patrolling while their kids celebrate without them…
To the dispatch dads answering the voices nobody else hears…

Your sacrifice matters.
