At this time, the City of Eldon is under a MANDATORY BOIL ORDER issued by DNR. There will be more information to come, however you can review the letter from DNR here.

The city will also be holding an emergency city council meeting tonight at 6pm at the Y Building to discuss the boil order as well as the next steps.

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Corporal Gary Daniels. God Speed, Sir.

Today, we pause to honor and remember Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Gary Daniels. 🖤💙

Corporal Daniels graduated from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy in 2015 as a member of the 101st Recruit Class and dedicated his career to serving the people of Missouri. During his time with the Patrol, he served in Troop C, Troop A, the recruiting division, and most recently at the Patrol Academy, where he helped train and mentor the next generation of troopers. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, he was known for encouraging young men and women to pursue careers in law enforcement and helping shape the future of the agency.

This week, the Missouri law enforcement community suffered a heartbreaking loss with the death of Corporal Daniels. Authorities have reported that he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Behind every badge is a human being. Law enforcement officers, dispatchers, firefighters, EMS personnel, corrections officers, and other first responders witness trauma that most people will never fully understand. They carry the weight of tragedy, loss, violence, and stress while continuing to show up for their families and their communities every day.

At Missouri True Crime, we often cover the darkest moments in people's lives. Cases, investigations, and tragedies can leave lasting impacts not only on victims and families, but also on the men and women who respond to those scenes. Mental health matters, and checking on those around us matters.

The Eldon Fire Department deployed multiple apparatus with several spotters in advance of last night’s storm. During the storm, crews responded to a medical emergency as well as multiple incidents involving trees down on homes and power lines.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northwestern Miller County in central Missouri... Northwestern Camden County in central Missouri... Morgan County in central Missouri...

* Until 815 PM CDT.

* At 730 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Warsaw, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Lake of The Ozarks, Lake of The Ozarks State Park, Eldon, Osage Beach, Versailles, Village of Four Seasons, Lake Ozark, Stover, Laurie, Sunrise Beach, Tuscumbia, Barnett, Syracuse, Gravois Mills, Olean, Bagnell, Lakeside, Etterville, Florence, and Kaiser.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Springfield.

This thunderstorm is capable of producing all types of severe weather including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds and tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a bathroom, closet or basement.

The City of Eldon Fire Department will begin testing the flow rates of fire hydrants throughout the city starting Wednesday, April 15. The process will begin in the northern areas and progress south, moving from east to west until the work is complete.

Residents are advised to use caution when doing laundry during this time, as water may appear discolored or cloudy due to temporary disturbances in the system caused by flushing. This discoloration is harmless and should clear shortly after flushing in your area is completed.
