ECSO PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday evening, July 15, 2026, Georgia State Patrol Troopers and Elbert County Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of Dollar General in Bowman. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, a grocery bag which contained over 2 pounds of suspected Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Jeremy Davis has been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of firearm during the commission of certain crimes, Use of firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a crime, DUI, Speeding, Failure to maintain lane, and Driving with no license on person.
Also, Darrell Abercrombie has been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a certain crimes, Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and Drugs not in original container (misdemeanor).
Both men were transported to the Elbert County Detention Center.
Sheriff Callaway would like to thank the officers with both agencies for their commitment and determination to keep these dangerous drugs off our streets. Effective law enforcement requires solid teamwork between all agencies and this is just one example of the results of that type teamwork.
