Good Monday morning. I wanted to remind everyone about our Autism/ Dementia/ Alzheimers emergency preparedness meeting we are hosting tonight at the Elbert County Middle School Auditorium at 6:00. This meeting is for anyone who is a caregiver or family member of someone with Autism, Dementia, or Alzheimers who may be prone to elopement or wandering.
Emergency personnel from the Sheriff's Office, EMS, and Fire will be there to discuss how to be more effective when responding to calls involving missing persons diagnosed with one of these conditions. We will discuss the use of Scent Kits and teach families how to use them. We will also have forms families can fill out with important information to have in case of emergency.
There will be an opportunity to meet the Sheriff's Office Bloodhound and we will also have a question-and-answer time. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve this community.

Join us on Monday, May 4 at 6:00 PM at the Elbert County Middle School Auditorium for an important community presentation focused on Autism and Dementia Awareness and Preparedness Response Event.

This event is designed to help law enforcement and other public safety personnel better understand and assist individuals and families affected by autism and dementia during emergency situations. The evening will also include a tracking K9 presentation, scent kit information, and a discussion on how providing critical information to public safety can improve emergency response efforts, especially in cases involving missing persons.

We encourage families, caregivers, first responders, and community members to attend and be part of this meaningful and informative evening as we work together to create a safer, more prepared community. More information to follow.
