Rotary Club of Elberton The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

The Rotary Club of Elberton meets on Tuesdays at 12:00pm at the Elberton Civic Center/Chambers of Commerce

Rotary Club of Elberton established a scholarship in 2021 in honor of longtime Rotarian, Gary Jones. He cared deeply for his chosen community and worked to make Elberton and Elbert County a better place. This scholarship is awarded every year to an Elbert County Senior wanting to further their education. In honor of his birthday, which is March 19, his family and Rotary Club members are asking you to consider giving to this scholarship. To donate, please send a check made to Rotary Club of Elberton. In the memo line, write ‘Gary Jones Scholarship.’ Mail to P. O. Box 429, Elberton, GA 30635. Thank you for remembering him and supporting the community.

On Saturday Aug. 7th the Club members Chris Kubas, Nancy Seymour, Sue Cone, Jan Burroughs, Susan Fortson, Gary Jones and club President Chris Dyal, decided to get some exercise as they walked about a mile, picking up trash along the roadside. They were also joined by Interact student D'Nadia Hill, and Keep Elbert County Beautiful member, Pam Allgood.

The clubs 10/20 meeting welcomed some of the administrators from Elbert County Comprehensive High School. They spoke on the challenges that they have faced during the pandemic and how it is effecting education. Educating our children is already filled with challenges, and the pandemic added one more massive challenge for these administrators to overcome. Thank you to all the Elbert County educators who work so hard for our children.
