On 1/28/26, officers responded to reports of shots fired at Beaver Dam Apartments in Elba. Officers arrived and the scene was quickly secured.

Two adult males were found with gunshot wounds. Both were treated by Fire/EMS and airlifted to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined the two were in a verbal altercation that escalated into both individuals exchanging gunfire. The incident remains under investigation.
