They had a beautiful wedding on the old courthouse lawn and a fantastic reception at the family farm. Congratulations Joe and Wynter. This month, Elba Fire & Rescue is proud to recognize Firefighter Charles Wagner for his dedication and service to our department and community.

Charles has served with Elba Fire & Rescue for 4 years, joining the department in 2022. A lifelong resident of Elba Township, Charles brings a strong work ethic, commitment to service, and a passion for helping others.
For Charles, serving the community means being ready to help whenever needed and being someone residents can count on during difficult times.

He also recognizes the important role community support plays in the success of the department.

"The residents of Elba Township help fund the department through their tax millage, and their support allows us to have the equipment, training, and resources needed to serve them effectively. Having a strong relationship with the community builds trust and helps us better protect and serve the people who rely on us."

One of his favorite parts of being a firefighter is participating in community events and seeing the excitement on children's faces when they get to meet firefighters and explore the trucks.
