Elba Twp. Fire Dept.

Elba Twp. Fire Dept. Protect and Serve the Township of Elba residents. The Elba Twp. Fire Dept. was formed in July 1956 and has served the community with “Pride and Dedication” since.

Elba Twp Fire Dept. maintains two fire stations, Station 1 is located at 1811 Hadley Rd. and Station 2 is located at 5613 Davison Rd. Each Station has twenty dedicated members. We also maintain a Fire Dept. training facility in the old township hall, located at 1789 Hadley Rd.

Vehicle Extrication Training is a vital part of Elba Fire Dept. operations.
Here are a couple of scenarios that EFD officers created to help train its members.

Lance Forrest started his career with Elba Fire around 2013.
He was promoted to Seargant in 2019 and then to the rank of Lieutenant in 2021
Lt Forrest is a certified fire instructor along with holding the highest level of officer certification available.
Forrest teaches various classes at the Lapeer County Fireman's training Center and surrounding departments.
He also works with the explorer youth program teaching the younger generation about the fire service.
LT Forrest specializes in Haz Mat training and public education .

Every August EFD officers hold a Pumper /Extrication training day.
Fire Fighters sign up to operate Engines ,Tenders, and extrication equipment at different time intervals.
Here you see Engine 623 at a fill site filling tenders 631 and 632 so that they can dump into the two fold a tanks where Engine 622 and 621 are both drafting using a jet siphon.
All of this is taking place at the same time Rescue 651has extrication drills.
The dedicated officers and firefighters of EFD showed up today in the rain with no hesitation of displaying there pride and dedication to training
