The 2026–2027 bird game hunting maps are now available for the Texas and Southern region!

Hunters are encouraged to review the updated maps before their trip and to follow all applicable laws, regulations, posted notices, and access requirements. Please respect private property, use designated access points, and help protect the safety of landowners, visitors, wildlife, and fellow hunters.

In Texas, hunters should be aware some USIBWC land previously accessible to the public has been transferred to the U.S. Army for the establishment of a National Defense Area (NDA), where no hunting or trespassing is allowed.

Commissioner McIntosh joined U.S. EPA Pacific Southwest Region Regional Administrator Martucci, Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez , and community leaders yesterday in Calexico, to tour New River infrastructure and discuss the path toward a permanent, binational solution to transboundary pollution.

The tour highlighted the City of Calexico’s New River Project, which helps remove debris from transboundary flows as they enter the United States. While these local improvements provide an important layer of protection, lasting progress requires addressing pollution at its source in Mexico.

USIBWC is working with its Mexican counterparts, EPA, California partners, local governments, and impacted communities to protect Americans from exposure to Mexican sewage.

Protecting public health, improving water quality, and restoring the New River require sustained partnership and accountability on both sides of the border. We remain focused on a 100% solution to transboundary flows into the United States.

The and our Environmental Management Division coordinated a tour with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's (USBR) Yuma Area Office and its water sampling laboratory, bringing together key stakeholders from both countries as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen binational cooperation and partnerships.

During the tour, USIBWC highlighted to the Minute 242 Salinity Work Group why this kind of water testing matters: it's what ensures the Colorado River salinity data both nations rely on is accurate and trustworthy.

This work group is the binational team responsible for making sure Colorado River water delivered to Mexico meets the salinity limits set by Minute 242 back in 1973, and that the U.S. is doing its part.

USIBWC continues investing in exactly this kind of hands-on, binational cooperation, the working-level partnerships that keep our shared water infrastructure transparent, technically sound, and accountable.

We’re pleased to announce that the U.S. Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) is hiring a 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 (Office Automation) in 𝗘𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗼, 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀.

This position plays a key role in supporting binational collaboration between the United States and Mexico. The Foreign Affairs Coordinator provides administrative, analytical, and coordination support for diplomatic, environmental, and water‑management initiatives carried out by the USIBWC.

The U.S. is providing emergency assistance to Tijuana, MX, after a pump failure reduced the city’s drinking water supply during peak summer temperatures.

The U.S. has approved emergency delivery through the U.S. conveyance system of about 368 acre-feet of Mexico’s share of Colorado River water.

Mexico requested the delivery to meet water supply needs after the failure of a booster pump at the El Carrizo Dam in the city of Tijuana on July 7.

The delivery began today.
